LIVING A FULFILLED LIFE WITH WISDOM
The various trials we encounter in life are the difficulties and afflictions that come our way where we feel lost and do not know which way to go.
Sometimes as we drive down the road of life, we come to dangerous intersections, sometimes referred to as “a fork in the road.” Those are the moments where a choice we make or do not make sets us on a course that could influence the rest of our journey. Do we turn right or left? Go ahead or turn back? The Bible speaks about a divine resource we can utilize when we come to those intersections. It is called wisdom.
So, what is wisdom and where do we find it? Webster defines it as the ability to make right use of knowledge. Wisdom involves the practical use of knowledge to deal with life’s issues.
True wisdom, according to the Bible begins with God. The book of Proverbs was written with the purpose to teach people how to attain wisdom and to apply divine wisdom to our daily life and to provide moral instruction.
Proverbs 2-6 says” For the Lord grants wisdom! “Getting wisdom is the most important thing you can do! “ Proverbs 4:7 “If you live a life guided by wisdom, you won’t limp or stumble as you run.” Proverbs 4:12 Wisdom’s starting point is God and his revealed word, the source of knowledge and understanding. King David taught Solomon as a young boy that seeking God’s wisdom was the most important choice he could make.
In this age of information, knowledge is plentiful, but wisdom is scarce. Wisdom means far more than simply knowing a lot. It is a basic attitude that affects every aspect of life. Faith in God should guide your attitudes and your actions. Trust in God and he will make you truly wise.
God supplies wisdom to those who ask. If you lack wisdom, ask God. You must ask in faith and with an attitude of trust.
God’s wisdom through his word will strengthen your faith, guide your decisions, enhance your life and change your heart. The word of God is full of living power, and is not simply a collection of words from God; it is living, life changing and dynamic as it works in us. It penetrates the core of our moral and spiritual life. It discerns what is within us, both good and evil. We must not only listen to the word, we must also let it shape our lives.
In this series “Living a fulfilled life’ we are talking about living our life on God’s wisdom.
The Bible says that you and I have a choice, we can live our life the world’s way or we can live
it God’s way.
God’s word promises to strengthen our faith, to guide our decisions, to enhance our life and
to change our heart, if only we base our life on God’s wisdom.
