The Mesquite Caregivers Support Group

This Thursday the topic will be on Memory Testing and conditions that cause symptoms of dementia, but are reversible.  LuAnn Lundquist will be doing the presentation.
She  will provide the SAGE test which is a self administered type paper and pencil test for assessing memory and cognitive challenges.  The object of this presentation will be to provide a means of doing a private (or at the group)test to have the experience of what that test is and does.  It can also provide a baseline score that they can give to their doctor or keep for their files.
The conditions that cause symptoms of dementia are important because they can usually be picked up by a blood test or by the doctor (unlike real dementia) and they can be treated and often reversed.
This will be a good class for the community know about.  It is of interest to all seniors.  They do not have to be a caregiver to attend. Please let your friends know.
HOPE FOR 2016

Where do we find Hope in 2016? We started a new series this week to answer some of the toughest questions we will face in the New Year. Our first lesson took us to the scripture in Romans 15:13  May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
Because God is always with me HIS Presence is watching over me according to Isaiah 41:10 (NIV)
So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
HIS Purpose is working in me as I read Romans 8:28 (NIV) And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.
HIS Place is waiting for me when Jesus says in John 14:1-2 (NIV) "Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in me.  In my Father's house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you.  As we understand these 3 truths, we find HOPE in the Isaiah 40:31 (NIV) but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.
